We have been so fortunate

Hidden Bee Animal Rescue is DBA Hidden Farm
Jenny was Jackson’s introduction to donkey rescue here in Tennesee. She has been a wealth of knowledge and was always happy to answer any questions we had.
Donkeys are amazing animals. They are all full of personality. Different from horses Donkeys are brave animals that will stand their ground. Jenny taught us that donkeys will wholeheartedly love their humans however they need to develop trust.
Donkeys are not very fast compared to predators, so they stand and fight for their lives. They’ll bite and kick animals, and they can fend off tough predators like coyotes. Interestingly, donkeys have been integrated into other livestock herds for that very reason; they’ll defend their territory from coyotes and other predators, thereby protecting flocks of sheep and other creatures.
Of course, they need to be acclimated to the other animals beforehand, or those farm animals might end up getting bitten or kicked themselves.
Like any animal, they require love, patience, and care.
Hickory Hill Farm is a wonderful organization. Taking their rescue services to the next level. David often jokes adopting a rescue animal from them required more than buying a home. They truly understand the importance of giving these animals who have had a rough time a new forever home that is the right fit. Sue and Earl joined Hidden Bee Rescue and quickly became the farm’s sweetest love story. We sadly lost Sue to a seizer disorder this year. This hit Jackson very hard since he has epilepsy. We all sat with her and Earl stood by as the vet helped her slip away. She is greatly missed.
Rock N County Equine, Blue Pearl Vet, and Tennessee Equine are outstanding Veterinary Facilities that have compassionately helped our animals in their recoveries.
