A family-run rescue and sanctuary built on grit, faith, and a whole lot of daily care.
Hidden Bee Farm did not start with a big plan. It started with a calling, an old farm, and animals who needed someone to show up when life had not been kind to them. Over time, what began as a simple commitment to help became a sanctuary and a place where children learn the value of compassion through real responsibility.
Built in 1843, Restored with Purpose
Hidden Bee Farm was established in 1843. When we found it, the farmhouse and land had seen better days, but we fell in love with it anyway. Restoring an old farm is humbling work. You learn quickly that “charming” can mean plumbing surprises, weather damage, fence repairs, and a never-ending list of projects. We have patched leaks, rebuilt what storms tore down, and kept moving because this place is worth it.
A Sanctuary for Animals Who Need a Different Kind of Home
Many of the animals who arrive here cannot return to traditional farm life. Some are seniors. Some have medical needs. Some have been mistreated and need time, patience, and steady routines. While we cannot change their past, we can give them a future that is safe, calm, and cared for.
Where Children Learn Kindness in Real Life
Hidden Bee Farm is also a place where children discover that kindness is not just a feeling. It is action. It is feeding and watering. It is learning to move slowly around an anxious animal. It is cleaning stalls. It is showing up even when it is cold, muddy, or inconvenient. We believe kids grow stronger when they learn responsibility and compassion side by side.
Healing Happens Here for People Too
This farm has been a place of comfort for our family as well. Watching animals recover, settle, and trust again changes you. The same is true for the children who visit and volunteer. It is hard to explain, but you can feel it when you are here. The farm has a way of slowing life down and reminding you what matters.

Come Experience It
We invite you to come to one of our events, volunteer days, or scheduled visits and see Hidden Bee Farm for yourself. It is not a polished theme park. It is a working sanctuary. And that is exactly why it matters.
